Welcome To Olney

Olney Camber of COmmerceOlney is a rural community in north central Texas located one hundred miles west of Fort Worth, forty miles south of Wichita Falls, two hundred miles east of Lubbock and ninety miles northeast of Abilene. This rural location provides easy access to larger markets, but allows a relaxed and affordable lifestyle to its citizens. 

As the entity charged with the responsibility of creating jobs and helping the community grow and prosper, the OIDC is working hard to make various companies aware of the opportunities in Olney, as well as assisting existing businesses and industries.  

The mission of the Olney Industrial Corporation is  to enhance the strength and stability of the Olney economy through the support of existing industry and the attraction of manufacturing and service sector business which bring new capital and employment opportunities into the community.

Olney's Attractions

Parks:

Tommy Perkins Memorial Park can be found on South Grand Avenue. The park is approximately 2.8 acres in size, and is open to the public from 5 a.m. to midnight every day. Perkins park offers playground equipment for children and a large covered pavilion with seating. Several city events, including MayFest and the annual Praise Rally, are held at Perkins Park.

Tom L. Griffin Memorial Park is located in the southwest corner of the city, on 16.8 acres of land near the hospital on South Avenue M. The large park offers a covered pavilion, picnic tables, walking trails and playground equipment. The swimming pool located in Tom Griffin Park is open during the summer months each year. This city pool offers an excellent way for children of all ages to cool off and have fun.
